PROGRESIVA and HARBIN Sign Agreement for Turkey's First GWh Capacity Renewable Energy Storage Facility

PROGRESIVA, a subsidiary of the Kontrolmatik group, has secured a landmark energy storage agreement with Chinese company HARBIN (HEI).
This partnership paves the way for Turkey's groundbreaking 'First GWh Capacity WPP Energy Storage Facility', expected to be operational in Tekirdag by 2025.
The deal was finalized in Ankara today, witnessed by Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and Chinese Ambassador Liu Shaobin, with HEI committed to funding the project. POMEGA, another Kontrolmatik subsidiary, will provide the local storage systems, and Kontrolmatik will manage the electrical and construction work.
Set for provisional completion in 2027, the facility aims to begin operations in 2025. It will include a wind power plant (WPP) with a yearly output of 875 million kWh, significantly enhancing Turkey's capacity for renewable energy.
