Myanmar’s 20-MW Taungdaw Gwin solar project launched

Myanmar-based Gold Energy Company Limited (GE) announced the official launch of the 20-MW Taungdaw Gwin solar power plant. It is regarded as a milestone project in the country’s electrification and energy transition efforts, especially considering the strong hit by challenges of the pandemic and global socioeconomic fluctuations. Located on a site southeast of Kyaukse, Myit Thar Township, the Taungdaw Gwin solar project was developed by GE’s subsidiary Green Power Energy Company Limited (GPE).

RWE also utilizes bi-facial modules for its Puerta del Sol (close to Casa Valdes) and Las Vaguadas projects (in the Province of Badajoz) under construction with a total capacity of 54 MWac.

With the commissioning of Casa Valdes, RWE will contribute towards achieving the Spanish climate targets. The Spanish sun is a great partner of the energy transition. And innovative technologies like the bifacial modules used at Casa Valdes help us to make the best out of this energy source and this site.

The company currently operates a solar capacity of more than 90 MWac in Spain.
