Pakistan Warns Houthi Attacks Could Disrupt Global Energy Supplies

Pakistan has expressed serious concern over escalating Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf region, warning that continued assaults on critical shipping routes could significantly disrupt global energy supplies. Officials highlighted that the attacks threaten key maritime chokepoints used for transporting crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG), increasing the risk of supply shortages and price volatility.

The government emphasized the importance of ensuring the security of international shipping lanes, noting that prolonged disruptions would affect not only energy-producing nations but also import-dependent countries such as Pakistan. Islamabad called for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and maintain the uninterrupted flow of energy through strategic waterways.
